We walked to see the whirlpools at the narrows. The walk is 4kms there and back, takes about an hour each way and is definitely worth it. It’s like walking through an enchanted forest, or my husband thought pre historic! The path is easy if...More

We were lucky and happened to be there at the right time for the XL surge ( check the board 5mins into the trail or the website for surge details ). It’s about an hours walk one way, with the going easy to moderate. There...More

I think a lot depends what you are looking for. We hiked in in forty minutes to North Point for the extra large ebb tide. A lot of eddies and whitewater, and if you come a little before the peak you can watch the water...More

A must see force of nature. Be prepared for a long walk in and out. The trail is beautiful but calls for good tennis or hiking shoes as it is uneven and laced with tree roots. There is a charming small bakery near the trail...More

It is 4 km each way but if someone will drop you at the trailhead (where parking is not allowed) then you can cut the distance to about 3 km each way. The last kilometer is sometimes steep with jagged rocks, narrow access and very...More

This was a wonderful hike through the beautiful west coast rainforest. You want to have enough time to enjoy the magical water when you arrive. This is a 4 km hike and if you choose to go on to view the riptides be warned that...More

After walk from the car park through the forest you come out of the clearing to see the whirlpools as the tides change you need to check on the times and allow for the walk but well worth the effort

We were told this was a relatively easy hike. We're good daily walkers so no problem -- but it was more of a medium/difficult hike. Lots of inclines and tree roots. Be sure you go early enough for plenty of daylight. Wear good shoes and...More
