This was a nice quick visit. We were able to park right up by the waterfall, walk a very short distance, get some great pictures and leave. We maybe spent 15 minutes. You can also climb to the top of the waterfall if you choose...More

Amazing waterfall. Yet another beautiful waterfall I visited in Iceland. It's got a great little "hike" (it's really just a bunch of steps) to the top and a fantastic view.

Whereas the first waterfall allowed you to walk behind it to get an amazing view, at Skogafoss you can walk up a steep 500-step path to get a fantastic view from the hill overlooking the waterfall. It's a tiring walk up but worth every effort....More

The Skogafoss has about the same height as the Seljalandfoss but is twice as wide. An impressive waterfall that reminds me of the ones in Yosemite Park, USA. They are part of the Golden Circle Tour and will therefore not be missed.

This is one of the bigger waterfalls in Iceland. As we approached we began feeling the mist from the waterfall. If it had been a sunny day there probably would have been a beautiful rainbow. Oh well, not so much on our visit but still...More

Once you hike up the stairs and see the beautiful waterfall, keep going! The rapids and waterfalls above Skogafoss are wonderful and offers a quiet place away from the crowd to enjoy it.

This was the highlight of our visit so far. Bus dropped us off. The walk to the falls takes about 15 minutes, depending on how close you want to get. We walked along the River bed and the walk was not too bad. Plenty of...More

Our seniors coach tour of 22 visited here for just 45 minutes, so we didn't have time to walk UP the STEEP hill to see the waterfall from the top platform. But, then, why would anyone want to do that? The view down at the...More

This waterfall is visible from the parking lot but it is more impressive if you climb the stairs to take in the view. It's a bit of a hike up to the top, but not a problem if you have average fitness. At the top,...More

If you're in shape, the 500+ steps to the top are well worth it. The view from the front is gorgeous. And while there were a ton of cars the day we visited, it didn't feel crowded. Mid-afternoon (summer) seemed to be the best time...More

If it’s just at ground level 30 mins should be adequate. If you want to reach the upper levels allocate 1& 1/2 hours to 2 hours dependent on your exploring needs.

As above, I don't think you will have any issues visiting unless there is some really unfortunate weather.

Hello there. There is no overnight parking on Skogáfoss. There are signs everywhere that warn you parking after 7:00PM is prohibited. There are, however, a campsite and a hotel in the vicinity, just minutes away from the... More
