This was a nice quick visit. We were able to park right up by the waterfall, walk a very short distance, get some great pictures and leave. We maybe spent 15 minutes. You can also climb to the top of the waterfall if you choose...More
Whereas the first waterfall allowed you to walk behind it to get an amazing view, at Skogafoss you can walk up a steep 500-step path to get a fantastic view from the hill overlooking the waterfall. It's a tiring walk up but worth every effort....More
The Skogafoss has about the same height as the Seljalandfoss but is twice as wide. An impressive waterfall that reminds me of the ones in Yosemite Park, USA. They are part of the Golden Circle Tour and will therefore not be missed.
This is one of the bigger waterfalls in Iceland. As we approached we began feeling the mist from the waterfall. If it had been a sunny day there probably would have been a beautiful rainbow. Oh well, not so much on our visit but still...More

Hello there. There is no overnight parking on Skogáfoss. There are signs everywhere that warn you parking after 7:00PM is prohibited. There are, however, a campsite and a hotel in the vicinity, just minutes away from the waterfall. The campsite is about 1500kr. and the hotel rates change depending on the season. Hope this information helps.
