It's a waterfall. IMHO one of the 2 most amazing ones in Chapada (along with Buracão waterfall). Stop spoling yourself with pictures and go see it in person.
The fumaça trail is impressive. Fascinating walk starting with a nice steep hill stretch of 2-3 km and then a long highland walk until reaching a superb canyon and a little disappointing waterfall. The way back is easier but overall a great 5-6 hours of walking.
An easy two hour hike with a lovely view as the payoff. Worthwhile if you are in Vale do capão, make certain you arrange a guide!
If trying to decide which hike to do in Chapada, this should definitely be at the top of the list. The various landscapes that you pass through to get to the spectacular waterfall and valley at the end are equally fascinating.
