Sunshine offered a great deal on the room in mid week in December. Cheerful helpful staff ready to give ski tips and go the extra mile to help with luggage and skis. When you arrive at the check in, alll your luggage abd ski equipment are whisked up to the top and into your room. They also put my skis in the locker for me and brought them out in the morning. All i had to do was strap them on and glide down the trail. So great to ski from your room. We love the huge windows that look out onto the mountains.
I didn't really know what to expect since I'd never been to a ski lodge before and the idea of taking a gondola ride and being far from my car during a road trip seemed daunting but it turned out to be the best decision in my whole trip. This is the perfect place to stay in summer as long as you're not incredibly pressed for time because 1) you avoid the mad crowds in Banff town itself but are still very close by, 2) you get to enjoy a scenic gondola ride every day, 3) you're only a short chairlift ride away from the highest alpine lake in Canada, right at your doorstep, 4) the service is fantastic, 5) the in-house restaurants have the most delicious, fresh food, 6) you get a free guided walk of Sunshine village, 7) the wi-fi is probably the best in the park. The rooms are cozy with a fireplace and very comfy beds, and the balcony looks out onto the chairlifts and mountains for a great view all day. Will definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in the area!…
Excellent staff in all areas. Increasing the gondola hours would be massively beneficial to the guest experience. After 5 days you feel absolutely trapped. The food and beverage department still required improvement. It’s getting better but the variety of food is very much lacking. You can only eat a veggie burger so many nights in a row. My son ate butter noodles for 5 straight days :( It would be fantastic to be able to go to the city more than just on Friday nights. I bet your staff feels the same way.
A wonderful stay at the mountain, reception and check in service and rooms great. Its too bad though that the dining is not what it used to be, quality of food and dining service used to be better, and you don't really have a choice to go anywhere else. For 1 night ok, for multiple nights that would be a challenge
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Every single person we spoke with was beyond helpful and friendly. The restaurant in Mountain Lodge was really great, the staff were incredible, the atmosphere beautiful - after our delicious food we got to move our wine to the couches in front of a gorgeous fire place. Hot tub huge! So accommodating with storage luggage, sending it up and down gondola for us, did not have to worry about anything. Only downfall for the two of us was the bed was not overly comfortable - but that is likely just a subjective issue!
