We have just come back from a stay at the Regent Berlin. We picked this hotel because of its location and the fact that it was also very close to one of the magnificent Christmas Markets that are in Berlin. As soon as we pulled up in a taxi it looked so festive and once we walked in we were greeted by lovely Christmas scents and a soothing piano being played in the foyer. This hotel is grand and the reception is impressive. The rooms are lovely, especially the bathroom. The only trouble with the room was that i found the pillows too hard, but that's just personal preference. There was coffee making facilities, bathrobes and slippers, little bag of handmade biscuits and a selection of fruit. We were unable to eat in the restaurant as for some reason it is closed Sunday and Monday evening which was rather disappointing as we would have liked to try it. We did not choose to have breakfast here either as it was quite expensive but we did have a few drinks in the bar and although again, expensive, they were beautifully made. For the price of this hotel i would highly recommend it for a short stay if you visit Berlin.

Impressive looking hotel and from moment of entry impressed with the old style charm of the foyer- small but impressive. Location is great within 1 km walking distance of many of Berlin's sites. Good shopping across the road at Galleries Lafayette (with 10% discount for hotel guests!) .Also at this time of year it is well locationed next to the best Christmas market in town .Breakfast was fantastic but didn't have any other meals during our stay. The bar was very nice but prices expensive but that is to be expected for a hotel of this level. The gym was on the small side with limited strength equipment but the sauna and relaxation area was quite nice. Found the staff quite helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable and gave a good quality sleep. Only downside was the room could have done with a more thorough clean as was a little dusty/musty which was quite noticeable when entering the room.

It promised so much....but really failed to deliver. The marble is there, but not the character. And certainly knows how to charge (like the 240 euro tea for two which was an enhanced cream tea, or anything from the minibar) The sauna was a potential death trap. No cold water except that dripping through the ceiling rose. Capped by the attempt at a 64 euro withholding from the compulsory credit card swipe which took a bit of querying. My memory of the Westin Grand just round the corner is far more positive even though it was 5 years ago. So far my policy of staying at top 10 hotels on yishengting has worked very well - up to now.

Upon my check in with a group of six friends the front desk informed me I had two reservations under my name. One reservations had been pre paid for the entire stay, by my travel agent, the other was made by my secretary for the same period and was a duplicate reservation. I asked to just combine the two reservation numbers into one booking. They refused. They said because I did not cancel one of the reservations, I would need to pay $800 for a non cancellation, even though I was staying in a large corner suite that had been pre paid. I called my secretary back in USA and she notified me that she in fact had cancelled the, on line booking when she learned my travel agent had book the room. I sent the front desk my cancellation email confirmation and they refused to accept it. They said they never received it. In summary this was the most dishonest experience I have ever encountered and the worse customer service I have yet to experience. They are a fraudulent organization I would not stay there if you have a choice , there are numerous better hotels that truly care about the customer experience. This place should not be in business

This is our preferred hotel in Berlin. It has a private boutique feel even though it belongs to the intercontinental chain. It’s run smoothly, rooms are big, cleanliness is tops, service is too. Staff very professional and helpful.
