By 3rd & 4th week of November 2019, I expensed some nights at this Lodge. Since the minute zero into the Serengeti, the service was 120% excellent in charge of David Temba (our private Safari guide) After some Champagne at Seronera Airstrip and 45-minutes driving, I arrived to the place that would be my home for those days; infrastructure and design are as good as any other four seasons hotel in a huge city. The security of the place is in charge is Maasai people (they carry a big sword under their clothes) in order to keep balance between the guests and the animals. What about the game rides? You can choose among morning or afternoon or full day game drive; I did full day and afternoon game drive plus a day trip to Ngorongoro (4S lodge managed all that before my arrival) During this game drives, I learnt from David 3 things: 1. Knowing the animal is the key to enjoy completely a Safari 2. Being the visitor into the animal’s home imply respect for them 3. Finding a new friend can happen in America or Europe or Africa Finally, if you dear reader are planning to travel to Serengeti, feel free to reach by DM. This trip could be quite complicated and expensive if you do not have some advise for friends who have done it before and, once again, I m so grateful with David Temba for his amazing knowledge of animals, tribes and land. He was a real added value of the 4S Lodge for my Safari experience.

Truly the most magical experience of my life! Cancel all of your other splurge vacations, and book your trip to stay at this property. A few tips - 1. Book the watering hole view. It is tremendous and the rooms are exceptional. 2. We visited in November, and the elephants visited the watering hole several times a day. Shoutout to Justin Stevens, hotel manager, for confirming that November is an excellent month for their visits! 3. We were delighted with three half day game drives in the morning - as each day we saw different animals and then we were able to relax by the pool and/or spa in the afternoons. 4. Ask for Calvin for your guide/driver. See pic below. He's AMAZING! 5. We were fortunate to time our visit when Ash was there as a visiting photographer. He's a UNESCO award winner and helped immensely with editing our pics! Thank you, Ash!!! 6. The laundry services are amazing - pack wisely and repeat! 7. Emmanuel from the booking department was incredibly patient with me as I planned the trip! THANK YOU! He was also helpful in arranging the domestic flights (totally worth the % fee and book the XL tickets so that you can pack a smidge more). He also surprised us with multiple treats as we were there celebrating our birthdays! (wine and birthday deserts in the room; the special wine room for birthday dinner) Every staff member - from bartenders to guides who escorted us to our rooms at night - every single person was kind, eager, and friendly!

Our honeymoon safari was highlighted by our stay at the Four Seasons. They do a crazy amount of marketing to attract people to stay and they didn’t disappoint. As we arrived from our game drive we were welcomed with a cold drink and a warm towel. We met Mary, she was absolutely amazing in all aspects. She clearly defined the details of our stay and made us feel at home and very special during our stay, checking in multiple times each day. Our room was nothing short of breathtaking with the amazing views, spacious everything, right down to fine details. The laundry credit was a nice touch too along with the bottle of champagne and chocolates to celebrate our honeymoon. The bed was also as comfortable as I’ve ever slept in. Within a half hour of us arriving and getting settled, it was like they rang the elephant bell. All of the elephants gathered around the watering hole for us to enjoy. This was a really cool experience for me and my wife and we will never forget it, and then it happened again the next day within an hour of us getting back from our game drive. The food was awesome, we are pretty particular eaters and they far surpassed our expectations, breakfast, packed lunches, and dinner. Bravo guys!! The gentleman at the discovery center/information area taught us a lot and really helped us understand a lot of the animals’ way of life. We also were met by either George and/or Justin, upper management, multiple times each day to see how our stay was and if anything else could be done to make our stay any better. Bottom line is, this place is very expensive and we were worried if we would walk away and regret the money we spent. The entire time we kept saying that is was completely worth it and would have been disappointed had we not stayed here.

Fantastic stay, this place was practically empty when we stayed here for two nights. It’s a large hotel but the staff are attentive and helpful. Dining was great and when I was sick with a fever one night Abu made ma a special medicinal drink at dinner which worked wonders (thanks very much Abu!). It’s also nice to see that they employee local Maasai people to work here. The only down fall was the lunch packed for us while we were on safari. The first day we were offered a menu to select lunch options to take with us. They packed a plentiful lunch box with many options and even our favourite drinks which we selected from the menu. When we returned from the game drive a female staff member at reception asked us to complete our lunch order for the next day of safari. The menu was very limited this time and we couldn’t even choose the drinks... on top of this she said we could only pick one sandwich each & our guide would receive whatever left overs. I was shocked at this especially considering we were paying $2000 per night. That lunch was probably the worst of 7 days of safari when we stayed at various 4 & 5 star resorts. A bit of a let down ending but over wise the hotel was very nice.

Very bad cleaning service. As soon as we arrived we saw the room full of beetles and insects. We had to be killing insects all night, during the day they went out again and the same thing also inside of the bed, in fact we killed two big spiders with their spiderweb hanging in the woods of the bed. We are not talking about just once, we are talking about like 20 beetles flying on my bedroom and toilet. The worst thing was that one jumped into my neck near my mother. They fly and jump in your face. A more than 1200 Euros room that doesn't even have a mosquito net. Very bad service and experience for our honeymoon. They left a message for us un our room with other people name, the fruit was mouldy....They just nailed it with us. Awful. Just adding the view is awesome and the food too but quality-price is out of your mind. Please don’t spend your money and time here.
