My friend loves the film vertigo so this was an amazing experience for her. The rooms were clean, staff were friendly and the lobby looked amazing. Ok location and no homeless people sleeping outside which was a bonus in this city.

The staff here are so friendly, they really couldn't do enough for us. We came by about 8.30am to drop bags off and they were more than happy to keep them after we got changed. We walked from Civic Centre BART station which took about 20 minutes. The room was nice, a great price too. Really worth the money. The bathroom was clean, it had a coffee maker with condiments and lovely shampoo etc. The room was spotless too. The bed was one of the most comfy hotel bed we have slept in! The only down side is the ceilings are so thin, we had people in the room directly above and every time they went to the bathroom we could hear the huge thud! Not nice being woken up at 4am because of someone upstairs. Overall, I recommend this hotel. Prices for hotels in San Francisco are CRAZY but this little gem was great value - I think I paid $280 for one night. The location isn't bad either, we did have to get an Uber to the Alcatraz pier but it was only $10. We walked back from Chinatown after dinner. They can arrange transport for you to the airport or to Emeryville AMTRAK (where we went) but its more expensive than just a regular Uber (Uber cost $44 to Emeryville station)

We spent two beautiful days in San Francisco. The Hotel Veritgo with its central location was a very good starting point for sightseeing. We had booked two double rooms. The rooms are not very big, but practically furnished and very clean, as well as the bathrooms. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful with all questions. Checking in, like checking out very fast and effective. The hotel vertig is an absolute recommendation for a tourist city trip to SF. (PS the best price for booking in Jan 2019 for August from Europe, we found at Neckermann)

The photographs on the hotels’ website were taken a few years ago, so we were very surprised upon arrival to find an extremely dated and musty smelling bedroom. We looked at 3 other rooms including the top suite in the hotel (which was equally revolting), and we checked right out again. I have given my rating based on the following:- 1. The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful and understanding. 2. The location of the hotel is close to most attractions and transport. The rooms we visited were noisy - you could hear the traffic outside - but San Fran is a major city so you cannot expect complete silence at night.

The room was comfortable, the hotel itself nicely done and the staff were helpful and friendly. It was a 5 or 10 minute walk from the town centre, we walked to and from it the 6 nights we stayed there, it is uphill but what isn't in San Francisco. Good area with shopping or even a hospital nearby should you need it. The hotel arranged the transport to the airport.
