The other reviews have done complete justice to this slice of Heaven . In a country swamped with tourists , escape to the mountains, stay as long as you can possibly manage (and promise yourself to come back so you can bare to leave!). Everything is perfection- beds, linen, huge bathrooms, the scenery, bookshelves piled with books, great wine, exquisite food, oh the tapas!!and dogs to go on walks with you. The family , Sam, Jago, Charlie a great Cook, and the brilliant cook Jeannie, (who has her own published cookbook for sale ) are charming beyond belief. They are the icing on the cake! Oh my! This is a reason to return to Spain!

I spent an incredibly happy week at Finca Buenvino at the beginning of September as part of Elaine Kingett's Write-it-Down course. In writing this review I will struggle to find anything to complain about as every aspect about this Spanish home was, for me, perfect in every way. The bedrooms (I saw them all) are comfortable, and beautifully decorated, each with its own outstanding view of the surrounding countryside. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, whilst still allowing the place to make you feel 'at home'. The grounds are perfect for leisurely walks with lanes that lead to the kitchen gardens and onward to the nearby villages. The infinity swimming pool was a perfect haven during the summer heat, with plenty of sun beds and towels, a fridge full of water/drinks and handy bottles of sun cream on tap! And then, there is the food. There is nothing I can write here that would do justice to Jeannie's sublime food. Dish after dish, I, and those at table with me, were left speechless at the sights, smells and tastes that we were presented with, from (seemingly) simple salads, cold or BBQ meats, cheese with candied aubergines and fresh watermelon, served at lunch under the plant-covered arbour, to the skilful plates served up at supper (Moroccan chicken with olives and preserved lemon, Clams marinière, Seville orange soufflé) under the stars, every one a winner. Also to be mentioned, Sam's amazing pudding and Sam and Jeannie's son Jago's delicious paella! If you want to explore the Andalusian countryside whilst staying in a fabulous home, eating food you will never forget, Finca Buenvino is the place for you!

Finca Buenvino has it all from luxurious bedding and comfortable beds to wonderful candlelit evening meals and the most hospitable hosts. I attended a week long cooking school and stayed in the room overlooking the road on the third floor. Buenvino is surrounded by a chestnut and cork oak forest, it is tranquil and the nights are quiet. A short drive from Seville (by Canadian standards) and you're in another world of small villages, tranquil forests and hiking trails. As part of the cooking week I didn't need a vehicle, but if you were visiting on your own you'd want to have a vehicle to make the most of your sightseeing opportunities. I would love to go back some day!

Our two week stay at Finca Buenvino was perfect. We rented one of the Chesterton's self catering villas (with it's own pool!) and popped up to the stunning main house (with B and B rooms available) for delicious tapas, drinks and mountain paella. Oh, and I mustn't forget that the incredible meal was enjoyed after a swim in their beautiful infinity pool which had one of the best views I've ever seen! Our villa was rustic, comfortable and charming. It had everything we needed for our stay with three children and was close to the very pretty town of Aracena. Lots of beautiful walks to charming little villages nearby and only just over an our from Seville.
