Halong cruise for family of 5

We are interested in a cruise for our family of 5 - 2 boys aged 8 and 16 and an adult 19 year old daughter.

Initially we were interested in private junk cruise 2d/1 night and indochina looks fabulous. However we think $1450 for this is crazy money for essentially 22 odd hours on board. Also considering what else you get in vietnam for your money it is a HUGE expense for a family, no matter how wonderful halong bay may be. Some of the the worlds most luxurious small cruises don't charge £500 per night for a small cabin!!! Are we missing something here?

Is it usual to be quoted per person and not per cabin?

Does anyone have any advice on this?

We may also be interested in the dragon pearl 3d/2 night trip but again the price would have to be right.

Thank you

For cheaper small junks, you might consider White Dolphin cruises. Or if you would like to join, LaFairy Sails can be a good alternative for Dragon's Pearl.

Happy travels!

Hi Tracy,

Didn't see your post the other day.

If you're interested in a private cruise of Halong Bay, do a search for Cat Ba Ventures.

They run cruises out of Cat Ba Island. We went with them in October 2014 and highly recommend them.

Another company that gets good reviews is Eco Friendly cruises; also run out of Cat Ba Island.

Cheers,

Scott
