We stated from the West Coast Wilderness Lodge so the bonus of stopping at the bakery and picked up a coffee there and cucumber mint water to go . The trail is well worn and amazing lush Forrest passing by Brown Lake and ending at the Narrows. Twice a day the tide changes direction while millions of gallons rush though the narrows. 2 hour round trip ( if not stopping for photos ) and an outhouse just before the narrows on the trail it makes for a perfect destination

Beautiful park to walk through and many people miss the beauty of the trees in the haste to get to the whirlpool and the Rapids. The walk is about an hour or 4km each way. Not too difficult but there are some hills along the way.

It’s a good hour walk to get to this nature point. Go to Roland Pt, turn right at the “t” just before the end of your hike. Interesting natural phenomenon but not sure it’s worth the hike. If your lucky you’ll see kayakers or surfers working the rushing water. Gives what you are seeing more meaning.

Beautiful old growth Forrest on your hike, so it’s gives you a nice feeling of what this area was like 100’s of years ago.

Take advantage of the ice cream bus on the side of the road when you finish

Aim to catch the high tide if possible (there are tide times and heights in the free guides from one of the many tourist information - go for L or XL tides if you can) allowing bit over an hour to hike in with children or if you like taking lots of photos along the way. Take water and plan to go to lovely little cafe at the park entrance on the way in or out - an unexpected highlight of a lovely trip!

Went in a weak tide day so we didn’t see a huge spectacle at the narrows, however; it was still a really nice walk and the narrows are beautiful regardless!
